What is your background?
I am a very motivated person who looks at every opportunity in a positive light.
After running my own events company for 18 years back home in sunny South Africa, I decided I needed a new challenge and that is how I ended up in the UK.
Having never left South Africa, I arrived on my own just before Covid shut down the world, but luckily I had a solid plan.
I worked in the healthcare industry, first as a Live-in Carer based in Suffolk, which allowed me to travel a bit and learn about the UK culture (which I absolutely love! Even all of the roundabouts!). I then worked for a lovely Care Home in Blandford, once again meeting new people and learning more about my new home, the UK.
After a while, I started yearning for the excitement of the events industry again, which is when I joined Quadrant2Design in 2021.
What first attracted you to work at Quadrant2Design?
Meeting Alan, the Managing Director; seeing and hearing his passion for the industry and the company that he built.
I was also impressed with the company’s organisation and the warehouse’s neatness (well done Harry !)
What would you say is your biggest achievement working at Quadrant2Design?
Understanding CAD design and all of the technical CAD lingo.
Also, being taken out of my comfort zone of Project Management and into Account Management.
What is it like working at Quadrant2Design? How would you describe the culture?
Quadrant2Design is like a well-oiled engine! We work hard and we play hard.
All of the departments work well together to provide the best products in the industry. On the rare occasion when there are issues, everyone works together and contributes to resolving them. You are not alone!
Any advice for someone applying for a job here?
If you are looking to work for a company that is passionate about their creations and all of the glory that comes with being the best, then you have come to the right place!
There is so much a person can learn about the industry. The wealth of knowledge is overflowing!
What are your interests outside of work?
I occasionally dabble in a bit of milk tart making.
