In 2013-2014, as part of her university placement, Kajal worked for 12 months as an Exhibition Designer within our Design team, before returning to her studies in Product Design at Bournemouth University.

After graduating in 2015 she returned to Quadrant2Design as a full-time CAD Designer, quickly becoming Senior CAD Designer.

In 2019 Kajal became CAD and Technical Design Manager overseeing, managing and supporting the Design team while also recruiting and training new CAD Designers.

As Parts Manufacturing Designer, Kajal is also responsible for creating all of Quadrant2Design’s unique bespoke stand features ready for manufacture.

What is your background?

I am originally from London, where I was born and raised.

I moved to sunny Bournemouth in 2011 to study for a BSc Product Design Degree at Bournemouth University. As part of my course, from 2013 to 2014, I completed a 12-month work placement as an Exhibition Designer with Quadrant2Design.

After graduating in 2015, I made the decision to stay in Bournemouth and re-joined Quadrant2Design full-time as a CAD Designer.

What first attracted you to work at Quadrant2Design?

During my university course, I had to do an industrial placement and was approached by Quadrant2Design for an interview.

The industry was rare and offered a good opportunity to broaden my horizon and see what the exhibition world had to offer.

What would you say is your biggest achievement working at Quadrant2Design?

Becoming the CAD & Technical Manager and having the opportunity to create bespoke solutions for the challenges that our clients provide us.

For example, with ASAP Supplies & Aquafax, it was a challenge to make their [boat] parts fit within the extremities of our system, allowing all of the parts to be moveable and making it look aesthetically appealing. It was great to rise to the challenge and the end result was fantastic!

What is it like working at Quadrant2Design? How would you describe the culture?

The people are what makes Quadrant2Design, the spirit of all members, knowing that everyone supports one another and everyone gets involved to find solutions for our customer’s problems.

Any advice for someone applying for a job here?

It’s a fast-paced environment and you have to bring your A-game!

What are your interests outside of work?

I bake lots of cakes, and more cakes as a hobby.
